Independence Day Celebration

How will you #BeTheRevolution? This Independence Day, the Museum of the American Revolution is asking visitors and passersby to declare how they are carrying forward the American Revolution by adding a personalized ribbon to a flag-shaped “Declarations Wall” on the Museum’s outdoor plaza from Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, July 7. Representatives from Philadelphia’s The Fabric Workshop also will be onsite to teach visitors historic techniques of flag making July 2-4.

Inside the Museum, visitors can explore the history and continuing legacy of the Declaration of Independence with special programs and activities for all ages. Create Independence Day-inspired crafts to take home at “History in the Making” craft tables. Visitors can sign their name to a giant Declaration of Independence in the Museum’s rotunda and take home a complimentary pocket-sized Declaration.

In the Museum’s discovery center, Revolution Place, the whole family can explore 18th-century Philadelphia through immersive environments, interactive touchscreens, reproduction objects, and special programs from 12 pm - 4 pm.

On July 1st, the Museum will be participating in Wawa Welcome America’s Free Museum program. Click here to reserve your tickets.  Tickets for the "Washington's War Tent" theater show are not included and will be available for $5 on-site at the Museum's box office on a first come, first served basis.
